Submissions

Author Guidelines

Authors intending to submit their work to Psychology of Motivation, Behavior, and Health are requested to carefully adhere to the following submission and formatting guidelines. Submissions that do not meet these requirements may be returned for revision prior to being reviewed.

1. Language of Submission

• The main body of the manuscript must be written in Persian (Farsi).

• All Persian content must use the "B Lotus" font with proper right-to-left alignment.

• All English content (including abstracts, keywords, and references) must be written in Times New Roman and aligned left-to-right.

2. Article Structure

Each manuscript must include the following elements, in this exact order:

1. Title of the Article (in Persian and English)

2. Author Information (in both Persian and English)

   • Full name, academic affiliation, ORCID (if available), and email address for each author.

   • Corresponding author must be clearly indicated.

3. Abstract in Persian (150–250 words)

   • Include 3 to 5 keywords in Persian immediately after the abstract.

4. Abstract in English (150–250 words)

   • Include 3 to 5 English keywords below the English abstract.

5. Main Body of the Article (in Persian)
   The structure should follow standard academic organization:

   • Introduction

   • Methods and Materials

   • Findings / Results

   • Discussion and Conclusion

   • Limitations and Suggestions (if applicable)

6. Extended Abstract in English

   • The extended abstract must be between 1000 and 1500 words.

   • It should summarize the entire article, including introduction, methods, findings, and discussion.

   • It must be structured into clear sections with headings (e.g., Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion and Conclusion).

   • The extended abstract serves the purpose of international visibility and indexing.

7. References

   • All references must follow the APA 7th edition style.

   • Use Persian script for Persian sources and Roman script for English ones.

   • All in-text citations must match the reference list.

3. Formatting Requirements

• Page size: A4, with margins set to 2.5 cm on all sides.

• Font:

  • Persian text: B Lotus, size 13 (main text), size 11 (footnotes).

  • English text: Times New Roman, size 12 (main text), size 10 (footnotes).

• Line spacing: 1.5 lines.

• Justification:

  • Persian text must be right-aligned and justified.

  • English text must be left-aligned and justified.

• Paragraph indentation: First line of each paragraph should be indented by 0.5 cm.

4. Submission Requirements

• Manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the journal’s online submission system in .docx (Microsoft Word) format.

• Submissions must not exceed 8,000 words in total (excluding references and extended abstract).

• Authors must also upload a completed conflict of interest disclosure form and, if applicable, ethical approval documentation.

• If the article is based on a thesis or dissertation, this must be clearly stated on the first page.

5. Ethical Considerations

• All submissions must comply with the ethical standards outlined on the Publication Ethics page of the journal.

• Studies involving human participants must include a statement confirming ethics committee approval and informed consent.

• Plagiarism will not be tolerated. All submissions will be screened using iThenticate plagiarism detection software.

6. Peer-Review Policy

• All manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review by two or three expert reviewers.

• The review process typically takes 4–6 weeks.

• Review outcomes may include: acceptance, minor revision, major revision, or rejection.

• Authors will be notified of decisions through the online submission system.

7. Article Processing Charges (APCs)

• Upon acceptance, authors are required to pay an Article Processing Charge (APC) of 1,500,000 Iranian Tomans.

• No additional charges apply for color figures or supplementary material.

8. Copyright and License

• Authors retain full copyright of their work.

• All published articles are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 (CC BY-NC 4.0) license.
