This study aimed to identify motivational strategies used in mental health care among individuals who experienced divorce. This qualitative study employed a conventional content analysis approach. Participants included 16 divorced individuals (male and female) from Tehran, selected purposefully to ensure maximum diversity. Data were collected through semi-structured individual interviews and continued until theoretical saturation. Data analysis was conducted using NVivo software through open coding, subcategory development, and theme extraction. The analysis led to the emergence of three main themes: "Reconstruction of Personal Identity," "Utilization of Support Resources," and "Enhancement of Psychological Resilience." A total of 14 subthemes were identified, including strategies such as redefining personal roles, reinforcing positive self-concept, receiving familial and professional support, self-care behaviors, finding meaning in the divorce experience, and maintaining motivation throughout recovery. Participants employed a multidimensional set of cognitive, emotional, social, and spiritual strategies to support their mental health. Motivational strategies play a crucial role in post-divorce mental health care, and the integration of internal and external resources can facilitate psychological recovery. The findings provide a foundation for designing psychological interventions and support programs for vulnerable individuals coping with the aftermath of divorce.
