Mothers of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) face numerous psychological, social, and physical challenges in their daily lives. These pressures often result in emotional exhaustion and diminished quality of life. This study aimed to explore the lived experiences of mothers in maintaining psychological balance while providing daily care for a child with ASD. A phenomenological research design was used, and 10 mothers were selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using in-depth semi-structured interviews and analyzed via Colaizzi’s method. Three central themes emerged: “oscillation between exhaustion and meaning,” “reliance on spiritual and familial resources,” and “redefinition of maternal identity.” Findings revealed that mothers’ psychological balance involves both chronic fatigue and a deep sense of meaning in motherhood. Spiritual strategies, spousal and family support, and balancing caregiving with self-care were key elements in sustaining mental well-being. These insights can inform supportive interventions and parental training programs in counseling and rehabilitation centers.
