Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the Fluid Intelligence Psychoeducational Intervention Package on increasing perception and attention in female students with ADHD in the second year of primary school. The research design was a semi-experimental design with a pre-test-post-test design with a control group. The statistical population included all 10-12 year old boys with ADHD who referred to counseling centers and psychological services for children in Tehran in the first half of 1402. According to the purpose of the study,

30 people were selected from the above statistical population using a multi-stage cluster sampling method and were randomly assigned to two experimental and control groups of 15 people. The data collection tool consisted of the Maher Perception Component (Saadati Shamir, 1401) and the Attention Test (Saadati Shamir, 1401). After the pre-test, the control group was kept waiting and the Maher Fluid Intelligence psycho-educational intervention was implemented for the experimental group in 10 90-minute sessions in a group manner. Then, at the end of the therapeutic interventions, the subjects of the two experimental and control groups were again evaluated using the perception and attention questionnaires. The research data were analyzed using multivariate analysis of covariance (MAVCOVA). The results of the first and second post-test (follow-up) showed that there was a significant difference in the increase in attention and perception between the experimental and control groups after the intervention (p<0.05). In explaining these findings, it can be said that the skilled fluid intelligence psycho-educational intervention package helps children increase their attention and concentration.
