Abstract

Introduction and Aim: In recent decades, increasing psychological stress, social transformations, and changes in family interaction patterns have highlighted the importance of identifying factors influencing family resilience and marital happiness. The present study aimed to investigate the feasibility of Islamic-based good marital conduct and explain its role in enhancing family resilience and marital happiness.

Methodology: This study was conducted using an exploratory mixed-method approach. In the qualitative phase, the components of good marital conduct were extracted through analysis of Islamic sources, religious texts, and semi-structured interviews with experts in psychology, family counseling, and Islamic studies. In the quantitative phase, the statistical population consisted of married individuals attending family counseling and educational centers who were selected through convenience sampling. Research instruments included family resilience, marital happiness, and marital relationship quality questionnaires. Data were analyzed using correlation tests, regression analysis, and structural equation modeling.

Findings: The findings revealed that Islamic-based good marital conduct had a significant positive relationship with family resilience and marital happiness. Components such as empathy, compassion, companionship, mutual respect, spiritual commitment, and constructive communication significantly predicted marital satisfaction and family adaptability. The results further demonstrated that emotional support and shared spirituality played important mediating roles in strengthening marital stability and reducing family conflicts.

Conclusion: The findings suggest that Islamic good marital conduct can serve as a comprehensive framework for strengthening emotional relationships, enhancing family resilience, and promoting marital happiness. Integrating ethical and spiritual teachings into educational programs and family-centered interventions may contribute to improving psychological well-being and family stability.
